DAVA @ Ritz-Carlton, Bali

For Ms. S,
DAVA , where we had the best meal while staying at Ritz-Carlton, Bali. The buliding itself is breathtakingly beautiful. Too bad the restaurant only opens for dinner, otherwises, we could've enjoyed the view of lush green w/ sunlight.
though the nightview was equally fine. with a view overlooking Indian Ocean, and even the lights from the Denpasar Airport.
very chic, contemporary design. Semi-open-air with super high ceiling. oh, but for whom is not a nature-lover, DON'T look up... geckos were always somewhere near.
my first try of the famous, Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial Rosé Champagne, and still couldn't understand what's the buzz was about it...
Our course menu.
3 types of dips for the bread. the ingredients used for the dips were traditional spices often used in SouthEast Asian cuisine. interesting contrast. and the Amuse-bouche... i'd long forgotten what it was..
Fish Course: Yellow fin tuna toro just melt in my month~
Soup: a new type of dumplings soup, i supposed. but it tasted great! the mayonnaise looking thingy on top worked great with the flavor of the broth.
foie gras! my favorite, always! Pan-fried foie gras tasted heavenly. Meat: Cervena Venison! the first time for me to try venison. We had no idea what type of meat it was when we tasted it. We just knew it's super tender n juicy. and with my favorite vege - Mushroom, yumm.. 2 thumbs up!!
Cleanser: Cranberry lime spide, tasted like ice cream soda.
Cheese: goat cheese... hum....
Dessert: though on the menu it wrote, " MELTING chocolate cake", it wasn't really melting. in fact, it was not even warm anymore. a big disappointment, especially after such a wonderful meal.. Tea, Petits Fours, & mysterious cocktail
i would say, to anyone who wanna dine in Ritz Bali, DAVA would definitely be the best choice!

Made's Warung

We had italian food, french food, even fast food in Bali,
n now, plz give balinese food a try.
Welcome to Made's Warung,
a gathering place for both locals & tourists around the world
jars of goodies
fried tofu (pardon me, but i never like tofu)
house special - rice with a little bit of everything
crab curry, it looks better than its taste
way to the ladies room

footnote: the food to me doesn't quite live up to their reputation,
or maybe 'coz we ordered the least popular dishes.
but the atmosphere was wonderful.

Mozaic 2006

Mozaic, one of the finest restaurant in Bali.
It all started with this beautiful sunset...
two of the Six-course tasting menu
began with~
Appetizer course

Fish course
Foie Gras course -oh...this is the kinda food that we should be sayin "i'm lovin it" to!
intermission, let's take a break....
Meat course -
surprisingly, both dishes were not as good as the previous ones,
the meat was slightly overcooked.
super creamy mashed potato
Fruit & Cheese course
Dessert course
complimentary from the Chef.
wow, that's a lotta food.
superb surrounding, superb staffs, superb food (except for the meat course) but, who am i to criticize this world-class french restaurant?

Footnote: Mozaic is recognized by Traditions & Qualite
as one of the finest dining in the world

Seafood restaurant by Jimbaran Bay

seriously, this band could sing any song in any language,
yet asking for big fat tip after their performance.
very expensive tiny lobster
how romantic is this..

facing the wave and gentle breeze of Jimbaran bay, feet in the soft sand, music, lobster.. it's like living in a dream, until you get the bill!!

Papa's Cafe

Oh my, what r u doing here, Mr. SpongeBob?
Having some italian food as well?
by the Legian beach,
Papa's cafe claims to offer the true authentic italian food, including expresso.

Cafe Latte
Fried mushroom with crab & mozzarella filling

Naughty Nuri's

Meat lovers! listen up!
i've found the tastiest rib, and it's cheap.
this delicacy is hidden in a small street stand in Ubud.
and it's name, Naughty Nuri's...
love everything about this place.
the smell, the decor, the wooden furniture..
nothing pretentious.

menu on the wall

all kinda sauces and spices
yes, the rib.
so juicy and tender,
one order enough for two.
