DAVA @ Ritz-Carlton, Bali

For Ms. S,
DAVA , where we had the best meal while staying at Ritz-Carlton, Bali. The buliding itself is breathtakingly beautiful. Too bad the restaurant only opens for dinner, otherwises, we could've enjoyed the view of lush green w/ sunlight.
though the nightview was equally fine. with a view overlooking Indian Ocean, and even the lights from the Denpasar Airport.
very chic, contemporary design. Semi-open-air with super high ceiling. oh, but for whom is not a nature-lover, DON'T look up... geckos were always somewhere near.
my first try of the famous, Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial Rosé Champagne, and still couldn't understand what's the buzz was about it...
Our course menu.
3 types of dips for the bread. the ingredients used for the dips were traditional spices often used in SouthEast Asian cuisine. interesting contrast. and the Amuse-bouche... i'd long forgotten what it was..
Fish Course: Yellow fin tuna toro just melt in my month~
Soup: a new type of dumplings soup, i supposed. but it tasted great! the mayonnaise looking thingy on top worked great with the flavor of the broth.
foie gras! my favorite, always! Pan-fried foie gras tasted heavenly. Meat: Cervena Venison! the first time for me to try venison. We had no idea what type of meat it was when we tasted it. We just knew it's super tender n juicy. and with my favorite vege - Mushroom, yumm.. 2 thumbs up!!
Cleanser: Cranberry lime spide, tasted like ice cream soda.
Cheese: goat cheese... hum....
Dessert: though on the menu it wrote, " MELTING chocolate cake", it wasn't really melting. in fact, it was not even warm anymore. a big disappointment, especially after such a wonderful meal.. Tea, Petits Fours, & mysterious cocktail
i would say, to anyone who wanna dine in Ritz Bali, DAVA would definitely be the best choice!
